Title:  Willamette Industries GE
Description:  This un-numbered General Electric loco belonged to Willamette Industries at Taylor, Louisiana - just west of Gibsland on the Illinois Central Gulf. The unit was built in December 1941 as Louisiana Southern No. 501, and even though this was a 45-ton design the railroad specified that it only weigh 44 tons to insure that it could be operated by just one man. It was subsequently owned by the Pacolet Manufacturing Co. in Pacolet, South Carolina and by Johnson Railway Supply in Georgia before move back to Louisiana.

Description:  South Coast Corporation's unnumbered 45-ton General Electric loco was parked at the closed sugar refinery along the SP at Mathews, Louisiana. The loco was GE serial number 18041 and had been built in January 1944 as U.S. Amy 8533 for service in Iran. It was subsequently used at England Air Force Base in Alexandria, Louisiana and ended its career at Mathews.

Kaiser Shipbuilding, I could not find any info on where this locomotive worked before ending up in West Dallas. This locomotive was not given a road number during building and as far as I can tell has never worn one.
